Leyland Christmas Lights Switch On
The 2024 Leyland Christmas Lights Switch On, hosted by South Ribble Borough Council in partnership with Leyland Town Team, promises to be a fun packed day for all the family.
Taking place on Hough Lane on Saturday 30 November, Leyland will welcome Coronation Street and Benidorm star Tony Maudsley, along with Nathan Moore of Brother Beyond to do the honours of turning the Christmas lights on.
The event, sponsored by Brian Pilkington Estate Agents, will start at 12 noon with market stalls, children's attractions, street food, live music and entertainment on stage from 2.45pm followed by the main event taking place at 5.30pm. See schedule below.
Free parking will be available for the event on King Street, Sumner Street, Churchill Way and Ecroyd Street car parks.

Leyland Market will also be getting involved with the festivities, offering a free children’s treasure trail with a prize for every completed entry, free colouring competition and free face painting on the day!
There'll also be stalls and crafts in Leyland United Reformed Church (from 10am) and Christingle (at 4pm).
Road closures will be in place on Hough Lane from the roundabout on School Lane outside The Gables pub to the junction with Herbert Street from 6am to 9pm.
Please note there will be no overnight parking permitted on Quinn Street and Hough Lane on Friday 29 November
The local, Leyland Cross Christmas Light Switch on will take place the night before, on Friday 29 November from 6pm to 7.30pm with free refreshments available in St Andrews Church.
